I've been knocked down a couple of times in life (who hasn't?), but I get back up each time. I've had to strengthen my belief in myself in order to stand up again. Every trial makes me appreciate my Source, character, drive, and determination.
On the way back up there are tears, moments of silence, refection, and requests for guidance. This isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign of release. I release the pain and hurt. I release limiting beliefs and behaviors. I release the past. I release, give thanks for the lesson, and roar. My roar isn't rooted in anger. I roar to acknowledge my power. I'm still standing. Everything has worked together for my personal growth and development.
My new theme song is Roar by Katy Perry. Here's my favorite part of the song:
Now I’m floating like a butterfly
Stinging like a bee I earned my stripes
I went from zero, to my own hero.
You held me down, but I got up
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, you hear that sound
Like thunder gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up
Get ready ’cause I’ve had enough
I see it all, I see it now
I don't know who she's talking to in this song, but I'm talking to myself. I'm speaking to every fear, doubt, or insecurity that I've ever had. I see now that they were all lies. At times I believed them, but no more. My roar is that of TRUTH. I am my own hero. I love all of me - the Good and the Great. Notice I didn't say bad. There's nothing bad about me. I used to think there was, but that was the biggest lie I told myself. I would really beat myself up for not being and doing enough. The truth is that I am ENOUGH. I am LOVE. I am LOVED.
What's your theme song? Does it speak to your awesomeness?
