Talk to 1 Person
Think of the perfect person for your product and talk to him/her. You can even record
yourself describing the product or actually talk to someone that you think is your ideal
customer. Having a specific person in mind will keep your message clear and focused.
Highlight Pain Points/Desired Result
Most of us don’t go to the doctor until we’re sick and tired of being in pain or
uncomfortable. Your copy should highlight the pain points and desired end result.
Pain motivates people to take action quickly.
Clearly State Benefits
Your description should clearly state how your product will solve their problem and
make life better. Put ‘What’s In It For Them’ in bullets. The benefits should paint a
vivid picture of their desired result.
Be Brief
Think of how you would describe your product on Twitter. It doesn’t have to be that
short, but you do need to get to the point and be easily understood.
Read it Aloud
Read the description aloud and edit as you go. Say every word as it is. If it sounds
awkward or confusing, then change it. Make sure your language is suitable for your
brand.
