Creating your online course is just the beginning. Now you need to promote it and, most importantly, sell it. This is where most entrepreneurs fail. As much as we would like people to come to us with a handful of cash and beg us to take their money, it just doesn’t work like that. You have to market your product to right people at the right time.
There are 4 components of your right person:
It’s your responsibility to identify these people and market directly to them. You can promote your online course at any time throughout the year, but here are 3 ideal months for your launch: December, January, and September. Major retailers adore these months and you should follow their lead.
December
Cash flows the most in December because of the holiday season. Most people are buying gifts, but many are treating themselves, too. I’m not the only one that subscribes to the shopping policy of ‘One for them and Two for Me’. People are intoxicated with the spirit of giving. At times, with complete disregard to the cost. It’s also the last opportunity to make purchases that can be used as tax deductions.
January
Everything seems possible in January. Whatever disappointments and regret that were felt weeks prior dissolve on New Year’s Day. It’s a new year. A new start. Everyone is fired up and ready to make this their year. This is great for you because your market is hungry for change. They’re eager to try something new. If you have a course or product relating to personal development, then this is absolutely the best time to launch.
September
New life is breathed into broken resolutions in September. It’s a season of change and fresh starts. The leaves are changing colors, summer’s over, and the kids are back in school. The world is in a period of transition. During this time people are seeking solutions that will make their transitions easier. Back-to-School advertisements are everywhere. It’s an ideal time to encourage continued education, especially to those committed to life-long learning and self-improvement.
