The holidays are quickly approaching.  This year seemed like the shortest in history.  The true meaning of November and December has been pushed to the wayside by retailers.  The holidays have become a time of great dis-ease, stress, and anxiety.  Many people often choose to numb their pain through substance abuse rather than heal the pain within.  That's why your gifts are needed more today than ever before.  The more people that you can touch this holiday season, the greater the impact you'll make in the world.  Your work can literally save lives and heal relationships across all dimensions.  Here are 3 ways to expand your impact and manifest more prosperity during the holiday season:

Collaborate

​Connect with a like-hearted entrepreneur that serves the same people that you do and join forces over the holiday season.  Brainstorm on ways that your gifts can complement each other.  Then, hold a joint event.  This can be a webinar, in-person seminar, giveaway, challenge, or simply a promotional email to each other's tribe.  This is probably the easiest and most fun method!  Both of you will gain exposure, get support, and only have to do half of the work.

Offer a Low-Content Product

Calendars, journals, planners, meal plans, logs, templates, and checklists are all low-content products that can be produced very quickly and for little to no upfront costs.  They can be digital (instant download) or physical products (something you can hold in your hand).  They make great stocking stuffers for anyone ready to hit the ground running in 2018.  

Create a Bundle

Do a quick inventory of all of your existing products and services.  Pay special attention to your most successful ones.  Look for at least 2 that solve the same problem.  For example, a wall calendar, planner, and checklist can all address the problems of procrastination and lack of motivation.  Then, offer a bundle at a lower price point than if they were sold individually.  

The time to create your plan to serve more people during the holiday season is now.  Start where you are and with what you have.  This shouldn't be laborious or complicated.  Create a simple strategy that feels good to you and go implement it!  I'd love to hear which method speaks to your heart, so please leave a comment below.

Society has deceived us into thinking that if you're not busy doing something in every moment, then you're a lazy person.  The word 'LAZY' has such a heavy and negative connotation.  NO ONE wants to be labeled as lazy.  It's pretty much the same as calling someone unworthy.

It is our need to feel both worthy and accepted that causes us to fill our days up with tasks (often meaningless).  Our To-Do lists are destined to never get To-Done.  How can they?  We are constantly adding more and more items to the list just for the sake of doing so.  We always seem to be behind the 8-ball.  Rushing from one place to the next and usually running  late.  This makes us feel unsatisfied and ultimately leads to the feeling that we're trying to avoid in the first place - unworthiness.  Seems kinda pointless.

I'm NOT saying that you should neglect all of your responsibilities.  Adulting requires that you meet specific deadlines and follow certain guidelines.  However, you can still remove some unnecessary burdens from your shoulders by creating space in your day.  Yes, space.  You know - an actual blank line or two in your agenda for the day.  Better yet, you can replace a task with a fun activity that makes you happy daily instead of trying to cram in fun on the weekend.  Adulting doesn't have to be drudgery.  Neither does entrepreneurship.  I realize that this may go against all that you've been taught.  It will take a minute to retrain your brain to transition from doing to being.

You and the people around you will be much happier and serene if you slow down the pace.  Any machine that continuously works around the clock will eventually break down.  It's just a matter of time.  While you're not a machine, you may be treating your body like it is.  Your mind, body, and spirit need downtime on a regular basis in order to function at optimal levels.  Your body's break down may come in the form of the flu, a cold, a disease, or injury that forces you to give it the rest that it needs.  This break down can be avoided with scheduled maintenance and tune-ups.  Creating space in your day is ultimately the most responsible and loving thing that you can do for yourself.

Here's what creating space may look like:

• 6am         Quiet Time with tea/coffee
• 8am         Task 1
• 10am       Go outside for a nature break
• 10:30 am Task 1
• 1pm         Lunch (just eat, no multitasking)
• 2pm         Task 2 (or resume Task 1)
• 4pm         Take a fun break (Listen to music, dance, or watch a short comedy)
• 4:30 pm   Task 2
• 6pm         Reflect on what you've accomplished
• 6:15pm    Set top priorities for the next day

Move your inner overachiever and task master to the back seat.  Allow your soul to take the wheel and guide you in creating a day that is truly fulfilling.  Life will become more enjoyable and you'll actually get more done by doing less.  A little productivity really does go a long way!

September is typically a month of change and transformation.  However, I was completely caught off guard by Mother Nature's plans.  Atlanta was in the path of a major hurricane and I feared the unknown.  I'd been living in Atlanta for 14 years (fortunately I wasn't there when hurricane Andrew hit) and hadn't experienced any other hurricane, so I was ill-prepared for hurricane Irma (like most Georgians).  Fortunately, Irma was downgraded to a tropical storm before hitting Georgia.  

So many thoughts ran through my head in the days leading up to Irma's arrival.  The overwhelming debate was over to stay or go.  No evacuation order had been given, but I also didn't want to wait until one was for fear of not having enough time to leave.  It was like a ping-pong match in my head as I monitored the storm's path on CNN.  As great as technology is, I knew that Mother Nature had her own prerogative to do whatever she saw fit to do.  

I decided that we would stay.  As much as I was hoping and praying that Irma would bypass Atlanta completely, I still had to act responsibly.  My son was depending on me.  I followed the hurricane preparation guidelines to the letter.  The bathtub was filled with water, I put ziplock bags of water in the freezer, and my cupboard was fully stocked.  I even had 2 bags packed just in case there was a last minute evacuation order.  Irma's impact on my family, life, and home were totally out of my control.  It gave me some peace knowing that I was doing all that I could do in advance of her arrival.  On the other hand, it didn't feel like it was enough.  I mean outside of having storm shutters on our windows and a boat (which we didn't have),  it all felt like I was simply bracing for a beat down instead of putting up my fists to fight for my life.

Although the storm was unplanned and unwanted, it brought with it several gifts.  No parent wants their child to ever have to go without anything.  However, it was good for my son to experience this small taste of lack so that he could appreciate all of the fortune that surrounds him on a daily basis.  My son and I are extremely close, but Irma allowed us to reconnect on another level.  I think this time together was made even more special because his birthday was just 2 weeks away.  These eight years have passed by much faster than I could have ever imagined.

It is my sincere prayer that I was able to impart valuable life lessons in my son during the storm that will serve him well throughout his life.  Such as:

• You will encounter storms in life.  Control what you can control and surrender the rest to God
• Despite how bad it looks you are cloaked with divine protection and God is always with you.
• Call upon your spiritual team for help
• Expect a miracle to happen
• Believe with every fiber of your being that you will make through to the other side of the storm wiser and better than you were before.
• Visualize the outcome that you desire instead of focusing on fear
• There’s always someone that is experiencing greater challenges, so be grateful for your journey
• Look for the good in every seemingly bad situation  
• You are stronger than you realize
• It’s okay to be afraid, but don’t allow it to overtake your spirit
• Family is the most important thing!
• Value human life and relationships more than material objects.  People cannot be replaced.
• Your prayers are always heard and answered in divine time.
• Everything is always in divine order

I'm grateful to Irma because I know that she was necessary in the grand scheme of God's plan to work everything out for our highest and best good.  Yet, my heart still hurts for all of those that experienced great suffering as a result of Irma.  On a positive note, she caused people in this time of division to overlook their differences.  People simply came together to help one another.  Irma left a path of destruction in her wake in the U.S. and abroad, but she ultimately created space for new positive energy and creativity to bloom. 

There will always be storms in life - both emotional and physical.  They occur to help us let go and rediscover what really matters.  No matter how intense the storm is you can always choose to have peace in the middle of it.

Photoshop has dominated the image editing market for decades.  Many people 
are unaware that there are alternatives.  Awareness is powerful because it allows you 
to make informed choices.

While  Adobe Photoshop is not nearly as expensive as it once was, it does possess 
a somewhat steep learning curve for the novice.  When you're anxious to birth your 
project into the world the last thing you want is to be delayed by a complicated software.

the price tag.  Each has a much simpler interface.  Some are even web-based so that 
you don't have to sacrifice space on your precious hard drive.  There isn't a 
one-size-fit-all option when it comes to image editing. Your skill level, time frame, 
and intuitive abilities all play a role in selecting a suitable platform. You simply have to 
​play around and discover which one works best for you.

​Photoshop is not your only option.  Finding an image editing software that works for you is easier than you think.  Let go of any anxiety that you may have about the process and just allow yourself to have fun.

As an entrepreneur you have so many hats that you are wearing.  It can be extremely overwhelming when you put on your designer hat. Especially if you are taking on the role of designing or creating products for your empire.  It's great if you can outsource this task, but unfortunately that's not always possible.

Since you're entering into unfamiliar territory it's important to realize that it may not go the way that you planned.  That can actually be a good thing.  I have been trained in design and taken art classes, yet many times my final project is quite different from what I initially envisioned.  I'm always pleasantly surprised with the outcome or my "cool accidents" as I call them.  One minute I'm saying "Oops" and the next minute I'm admiring how amazing my so-called mistake looks.

If you begin your project with unrealistic and inflexible expectations, then that will only lead to you beating yourself up and lowering your self confidence.  This negative energy will then seep into the product that you are creating.  As a result, you'll likely experience a decrease in sales or you may actually repel your ideal client or customer.  I know you don't want either of these to occur.

​So, before you even sit down or put your fingers to the keyboard, you must release all expectations.  This is important whether you are or aren't a trained designer.  When you're attached to an outcome it blocks you from simply enjoying the experience. That attachment  prevents creative ideas from flowing.  Most things are not going to happen exactly the way that you want them to.  And that's okay.

Now, releasing expectations doesn't mean that you don't create goals or hold yourself accountable.  It simply means that you do your best, allow yourself to be human, and view everything as a teachable moment.  If you don't meet a deadline, then set a new one.  Stay fluid!

Eliminate the added stress and pressure by releasing the expectations that you have for how everything should happen exactly according to your plan.  Release the expectations that you have for your performance throughout the process.  Cut yourself some slack.  Instead of judging a setback, simply allow everything that comes up to be interesting.  Allow the experience to be your teacher and let that experience be enough. 

​Try looking at the project that you're working on and the product that you want to create as an adventure.  Stay curious and inquisitive about what you'll gain along the way.  What I know for certain is that you will not be the same person at the end of the project that you were when you first began it.  You will grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually if you trust the process.

Ask yourself these questions:  What will this experience teach me?   How can I grow from this experience?  What new skills will I gain as a result of going through this?

Releasing expectations allows you to be present in the moment and fully experience the journey that you are embarking upon.   Letting go of any attachment to a particular result allows you to have fun - which is what you're supposed to be doing anyway.  The influx of sales will be the icing on the cake.

You cannot get to where you want to be by staying in the same place.  I'm not talking about geography here.  I'm referring to your emotional and spiritual maturity.  You cannot uplevel your relationships, bank account, and empire without growth.  

Like it or not, life is designed to stretch you so that you can step into the best version of yourself.  Your desires and goals demand that you expand.  Expand your self-worth, self- esteem, love, faith, vision, and skill sets.  And all of this requires you to get uncomfortable.  To feel the fear and cry the tears, yet still move forward trusting that it will all ultimately work out in the end.

The beauty of the society that we live in today is that there is a plethora of help available to each and every one of us.  All we have to do is simply muster up the courage to seek it out and ask for what we need.

Where there is a will, there is a way...always.  The Universe has countless people and opportunities lined up to help you along your path.  Years ago when I had just left corporate and was clinging to every dime that I had while building my empire, there was a program that I knew would help me, but I just couldn't part with $1K to enroll.  The coach generously made an exception for me that was beyond belief.  She told me that she would allow me to pay what I could.  I couldn't believe that someone I'd never met before would do something so generous.  When I asked her why she would do such a gracious thing, she replied that people had helped her along her journey and this was her opportunity to pay it forward.  

That wonderful experience forced me to push aside my pride and judgement about it being a handout.  Instead, I expanded into sincere gratitude and humility.  You see, I had always been the giver and the practical one.  Experiencing the other side of the coin made me truly appreciate all forms of blessings.

Here's how you to fill your coaching practice quickly:

1  Separate Yourself From the Pack

We all know that there are a lot of people calling themselves coaches today.  It's easy to get discouraged and think that what you have to offer isn't special enough.  Well, you're wrong.  There may be a million people that do what you do, but they don't do it the way that you do.  They haven't overcome what you have.  They aren't here to serve who you're here to serve.  

You must separate yourself from the herd.  Stand out!  You do this simply by being yourself and getting laser focused on who you help.  For example, Cheryl was branding herself as a relationship coach before we started working together.  She thought that by targeting a specific niche that she would alienate thousands of women.  In fact, the opposite is true, you attract more clients when you hone in on your target market because your messages are clearer.  It becomes easier for your ideal client to raise their hand and identify with you.

2  Use Video

You're going to be left behind the pack if you don't incorporate video into your marketing strategy.  The sooner you do this, the better.  By overcoming your camera shyness you'll automatically become more visible.  More Visibility = More Clients

Video is the fastest way to establish the Know/Like/Trust factor.  This factor is paramount if you want to build a sustainable and profitable coaching or healing practice.  You can really increase your return on investment if you incorporate live streaming.  Facebook Live, Periscope, Busker, Instagram, and others allow your ideal clients to relate to you very quickly.  Your quirks, mannerisms, etc. make you human and they're to be celebrated, not hidden.

3  Nurture Your List

No matter how large your email list it's vital that you take very good care of them.  They are after all giving you a home in their coveted inbox.  Do no take that lightly.  Stay in contact with them at least once a month.  Your emails should provide high quality content, tips, and information.

If you're always selling to your list, then you will have a lot of unsubscribes.  Find out what their needs are and offer them solutions through your content.  Feel free to reward them with exclusive access to specific content or free gifts.  Give first from the heart and you will reap what you sow in the not-so-distant future.

4  Offer Done-For-You Services

As a coach or healer you are a vital guide for your clients, but at the end of the day they have to put in the work, do the assignments, and make it happen.  You can uplevel your offerings by adding Done-For-You (DFY) services where you take workload off of their plates.  People will gladly pay you to do something for them if you can save them time and money.  This doesn't mean that you charge pennies for your services.  It means that if you convert the time that it would take for them to learn what they need to learn, purchase the tools and software needed, navigate unforeseen hurdles, and loss in productivity into actual dollars, then your highest rate is still a bargain.  Any time detracted from signing up new clients is extremely costly.

5  Create a Referral Circle

Everything is better when you have help and support.  Even though you're a solo-preneur it doesn't mean that you have to do it all alone.  Building genuine, quality relationships with your peers will help everyone go further faster.

A referral circle needs to be a minimum of 2 people.  Find at least one other entrepreneur that complements your services.  For example, if you're a fitness coach, then you may want to connect with a mindset coach or stylist.  Your client will have to win the battle of the mind when they hit a plateau.  As their new body emerges they'll need new clothing to match their newfound confidence.

Here are a few charactaristics of money that you may not be aware of.  Coins and green paper that folds are all energy!  Your beliefs, thoughts, and relationship with them can block abundance from entering your life, especially your wallet.  Money is completely neutral until we associate our beliefs upon it.  Once that happens, it takes on either positive or negative energy.  

You don't have the money you want because on some level you are blocking it from entering your reality.  Don't fall victim to blame and self-pity.  Do something about it!  Start by accepting responsibility for your current situation.  You, and you alone, are responsible for creating the life and empire that you desire.  That doesn't mean that you have to do this alone.   

Another thing that you need to know is that Money Loves Speed.  It loves when you take inspired action on your divine downloads AKA ideas.  Taking any step, no matter how small, is like a sonar radar for prosperity.

Remember, insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.  Will the NEW YOU release your fears and try something out of your comfort zone???  It's time for you to honor your 1st instinct.  Whether it's a YES or a NO, allow it to be okay.  

What you do this month matters more than you realize.  Doing what you did last year cannot be an option for you any longer.  You must decide that YOU ARE going to do what's necessary to get the results that you want - to get the life that you want.

If you're familiar with numerology, then you know that 2017 is a 1 year.  1 represents new beginnings.  In numerology there are 9 year cycles.  2016 was the end of a cycle and now we're all entering a new one.  What does all of this have to do with you?  Absolutely Everything!

Your choices and decisions this year, especially this month, will affect what life lessons you will be faced with for the next 9 years (That's a long time!).  For most people the previous 9 year cycles was filled drastic changes to push you out of your comfort zone.  

Personally, 5 of those 9 years were very painful for me.  I had a family member steal my identity and rack up debt in my name, my relationship ended, and my self-confidence took some major blows.  And those are just a few of the low-lights.  Although everything has ultimately worked out for my good, I know that those years would have been much different if I had only listened to my intuition instead of succumbing to fear in several of those situations.  Some of them were simply lessons that I had to learn in order to grow.

Faith or Fear.  Which one will you choose?  Decide now and then make certain that every action step you take is in alignment with your choice.  What you do matters and it can either make the road before you rocky or smooth.  Life can be easy, if you focus on honoring your soul's desires.

Disney movies are always packed with valuable lessons for every age.  However, as I watched Moana with my son I found it to posess many lessons that serve those of us on an entrepreneurial journey.  Being an entrepreneur, especially a purpose-driven one, is the most intense journey of self-development that a person can ever embark upon.  It is not for the faint-hearted.  If it was easy, then there would be many more entrepreneurs in the world.  Here are 5 lessons that you won't learn in your average B-school:

The people you love the most may not understand or support your purpose

As much as you want and crave the support of your loved ones and friends, they may not be able to give it to you.  It doesn't mean that they don't love.  It just means that they are in a different realm of consciousness and that's okay.  They may project their own limited beliefs and conditioning onto you.  You must stand your ground and go forth anyway.

Some of your journey will be traveled alone

You must become your greatest ally because there will be times when you will be the only person that you can turn to.  This doesn't mean that you'll necessarily be alone, however the fire that burns within you is unique to you.  It's important to surround yourself with like-hearted individuals and celebrate yourself.

The skills and resources that you need will show up when you need them

Rarely will you feel 100% ready to step out from the shadows to lead boldly.  The nerves and anxiety are not hindrances.  Take the step anyway!  You'll be shocked and amazed by the talents that reveal themselves at exactly the right moment.  You have everything within you to fulfill your purpose.  People and training will show up to help you along the way - receive the help graciously.

You will want to quit...Don't!

Things will not go as you plan and there will come a time (or several) when you want to quit.  This is totally normal as you move outside of your comfort zone.  Scream, cry, punch a pillow - do whatever you need to do to express your feelings.  Then, get up and keep going.  Each step you take will bring you closer to your desires.  This is simply a part of the process.

Only you can fulfill your purpose

Your calling will not go away no matter how hard you try to ignore to.  Life will conspire for your highest good and relentlessly tug at your heart.  Your heart knows the way - listen to it!  There may be others that appear to be more qualified, well-known or skilled, but you were chosen for a reason.  It's not for you to question or doubt the reason.  Accept your mission, embrace it, and trust in your dreams and visions.

While there is something to be said for structure and stability, we cannot remain static.  The winds of change roll through to prevent you from doing just that.  It's so easy and comfortable to do things the way that you've always done them.  There's no growth or progress made if you do this.  You are here on this planet at this point in history to evolve.

You don't always know exactly when the winds of change are going to blow through, but you can guarantee that they will always come.  Mother Nature handles change effortlessly and with such grace.  Every 3 months change take place.  The trees don't desperately cling to their falling leaves in the fall.  No, they simply let them go.  It's probably a relief not to have to be responsible for their care and nourishment.  

When the winds of change blow, the best strategy is to flow with them.  Of course you can lock your knees and stand your ground while the winds pelt against your back.  This path of resistance is painful and wastes a lot of energy.  

I remember when I was in corporate and I resisted the calling to walk away from it all and build my empire full-time.  I was working on it part-time and I knew that I could do it, but I was terrified about venturing out on my own without the so-called security of a salary.  Then, a tornado of change rolled through my life.  Management changed and I went from a hero to a zero.  Nothing I did was good enough.  After years of service I was now no longer seen as valuable.  I still resisted the calling to go full-time and simply sent out my resume.  

After a year and a half job search, the Universe let me know that enough was enough.  My corporate position was eliminated.  I could stay and take a much less appealing position or take my severance  and go.  Clearly, my way wasn't getting me anywhere.  I went!  That was 4 years ago and I haven't looked back.

Ultimately, change is going to happen.  You're going to get where the Universe wants you to be one way or the other.  Your journey will unfold in miraculous ways when you release resistance.  You will look back one day, in the not-so-distant future, and discover why you went through the trials of life.  None of it was to punish or harm you.  It was all for you to step fully into your purpose.
